When Labour introduced Winter Fuel Payment in 1997, pensioners were more likely to be in poverty than working age people. Since then pensioner incomes have risen faster than those in work & the situation has reversed. The gap is projected to widen further still.

Other the last few years D-Day seems to be increasingly understood as a mostly American enterprise in no small party thanks to Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, etc...
But it's good te remember that there were more Anglo-Canadians than Americans on D-Day
