@jeffmyrmo Albinoni's instrumental music is neither complex nor showy, but combines a great sense of melody with pleasing counterpoint and avoids the Venetian tendency to draw out or repeat sequences excessively (Vivaldi syndrome). His music has always been among my favourites.

@jeffmyrmo Albinoni came from a wealthy family wasn't a "professional" composer because he didn't need to do it for money. His music doesn't focus on the virtuoso, and often sounds like it was written to be more widely playable. His music tends to be more melodic than other Venetians.
