As a country, we must get serious about the flooding crisis.

I am convinced that President Mahama's government will confront it head on and deliver the lasting solutions Ghanaians have long demanded.

As I said on TV3 2 weeks ago, this is the time for Decisive Leadership &, where necessary, drastic action must be taken regardless of who is affected.

Buildings on waterways must be abolished, re-engineer the drainage system etc ..

On whether or not the Black Stars played beautiful football yesterday, let me share what I told my NUKUNU players during the recently concluded Middle League.

I said, “Guys, I have watched you play beautiful football all season. I am not in Ho to watch you play beautiful football. Just win. Even if you have to play ugly football, just win and qualify.”

As an investor, I knew exactly what I wanted. At that stage of the competition, the only thing that mattered was the result.

Let England play beautiful football. We will beat them with our “ugly” football.

At this level, winning is the beauty that matters most.

A Major Step Forward for Secondary Education

The approval of the US$300 million STARR-J Project by the World Bank is a significant boost for Ghana’s education sector and a strong vote of confidence in the Government’s vision for transforming secondary education.

As a Member of the Education Committee of Parliament, I commend the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and his team for their leadership in securing this important investment. I also applaud the World Bank and all stakeholders who worked to make this possible.

This intervention presents a real opportunity to address the infrastructure deficits that continue to affect many of our Category B and Category C schools. Overcrowded classrooms, inadequate dormitory accommodation, limited laboratory facilities and other infrastructure challenges have persisted for far too long. I am hopeful that the STARR-J Project will help bridge these gaps while accelerating the transition away from the double-track system.

Beyond infrastructure, this investment represents a commitment to quality, equity and the future of Ghana’s young people. If implemented effectively, it will leave a lasting impact on educational outcomes and national development.

I particularly look forward to seeing evidence of these investments in the four Senior High Schools in the Ketu North Constituency, where improved infrastructure will significantly enhance teaching, learning and student welfare.

I am completely distraught by the tragic news of the young UCC student who was found dead at a beach after she had been missing for days.

I knew INNOCENTIA AVINU personally because I am a friend of her family. She was a native of Dzodze and a beneficiary of our scholarship scheme. The last time I saw her was in March, when we awarded scholarships to the students.

I am reliably informed that the Police are investigating this incident, and I hope they swiftly apprehend and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.

My young star girl is gone, and in such a tragic way.

May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may God grant her family, especially her mum and sisters, the strength to bear this painful loss.
