Tinubu’s Re-election Is My Number One Project — Delta Governor Oborevwori
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is his top political priority ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, the governor said he is focused on delivering the President rather than engaging in political rivalry or governorship contest debates.
According to him, he understands the political space well and has strong familiarity with key actors in the system.
“So that when they say a man with street credibility, I was street smart. I know all of them. These people you’re talking about, I know them,” he said.
On political contests within the state, Oborevwori downplayed governorship ambitions, insisting that his attention is on national political alignment and delivery of the President’s mandate.
“On the issue of the contest, governorship is not an issue. We should talk about how to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It’s my number one project. That project is bigger than any other project,” he stated.
The governor added that supporting Tinubu’s re-election would ease governance pressure and strengthen Delta State’s influence at the federal level.
“I’m carrying a lot of burden as a governor. The burden will be light on me… by the time we deliver, we’re able to export some people to the national level, so that I will have a voice,” he explained.
He further noted that strong political alignment would improve the state’s chances of benefiting from federal appointments and opportunities.
VIDEO: A nation cannot move forward while lives are being wasted. When will the leaders choose Nigerians over politics? When will Nigerian lives matter? - Pastor Paul Eneche
“If you look at the people we call leaders—go to the Senate, go to the House of Representatives—why should a senator or a member of the House be a praise singer for anyone? Why are those in government not able to face their boss and say, “Oga, this is the truth”? You have people who are supposed to represent the values of society behaving like illiterates. By the time you become a governor, you should be beyond looking for money. Most of Nigeria’s ruling class lack values—they are too cheap. If we truly want to fix this country, we need a principled ruling class. The ruling class needs to have values—values beyond stomach infrastructure.”

Me: Dad I want to make my hair
Him : Go and make it now
Me: Money
Him: How much?
Me 3500 ( in my head; attachment x2=800, stylist=1000, transport and miscellaneous =1000. Pocket the rest)
Him: Ha! Isn’t it better if you barb it? My barber takes 100, it is when I want to dash him money that I pay 200
Me: OK goes back to my room
30 minutes later
Him: Aren’t you making your hair again?
Me: But you said I should go and cut it now
Him: you better do quick. I will not wait for you o. I’m going to town now.
Me : Rushed to the bathroom to take a bath and get ready
He drops me at the saloon
Him: Call me him when you’re done and gives me 3500
2hrs later he calls, are you done? I’m going home o
Me: We’re not even half done. I’ll just meet you at home
Him: aren’t you hungry
Me: I am very hungry, but I’ll just buy mineral and biscuits.
Him: OK don’t stay out too late.
Me: OK sir
A few moments later he calls again to ask how many of us were in the saloon? My dad brought food for all 3 of us. The woman making my hair asked if he was my boyfriend and I said my Dad, the other lady said maybe she is his only child. This man has 9 of us and he is like that with every single one
He went ahead to wait 2 extra hours just to take me home, so I don’t have to go home by myself at night.
Also the first to compliment my hair even though he complained about it being too much and too long.
That man has loved me my entire life, being actively present and I would give him the entire universe if I could.
“Nigerians in the diaspora are the most selfish people in the world. You left Nigeria because of hardship, and now you’re singing ‘on your mandate’ for President Tinubu. Why not come back to Nigeria to stand full-time on the mandate?”
