Dice la presidenta @Claudiashein que quien decidió "expulsar" al piloto fue el Consejo de Seguridad Nacional y que el martes que viene se darán explicaciones.

No perdamos de vista algo. México ni siquiera extraditó a EE UU al testigo MAS IMPORTANTE de todo el caso de El Mayo. México EXPULSÓ a esta persona. Lo echó del país bajo el argumento de que era una "amenaza" para la seguridad nacional. Sí, el delincuente de poca monta aprendiz de piloto era, según "El Gabinete de Seguridad Nacional' una amenaza para el país.

Llegamos a viernes y yo sigo sin poder creer que el gobierno de México le haya regalado a Estados Unidos al testigo más importante de la entrega del Mayo Zambada. Caso que al propio gobierno lo tiene escandalizado.

No tiene sentido amigos.

The sheer impossibility of what we just witnessed:

Algeria and Austria both advance with a tie, Austria in 2nd Algeria in 3rd. Second has to play Spain, so Algeria actually prefers to tie than win, and either is out with a loss, so a 0-0 tie is almost a foregone conclusion. The books have tie at +100.

Iran is sitting at home, desperately hoping that somehow one of the teams finds a single goal to knock the other out and keep Iran in the competition.

The game starts as we expected, with the teams aimlessly kicking the ball around but Austria finds a fluke goal to go up 1-0 and give Iran hope.

Then, just as quickly, Algeria rips one back, 1-1 at half, each team seems warned of the dangers of attacking and content to park their respective busses and take the draw.

And yet Austria scores again! Iran's hope, lasts 5 minutes, as Algeria equalizes in the 60th.

They spend the next 30 minutes wandering around, not applying pressure on either side, waiting out the draw.

We are now in the 93rd minute (4 mins of stoppage time), and Algeria is standing with the ball, waiting for the game to end. They have zero (negative!) incentive to score, since they'd rather preserve the tie and secure 3rd than get 2nd and face Spain. Austria likewise has zero incentive to apply any pressure, and is also standing, waiting for the game to end.

Out of NOWHERE, Algeria springs an attack and scores a goal to put Austria out and Iran back in. Feels like a billion to one that they score here with a lot to lose by winning and absolutely everything to lose by potentially losing.

Then, with one posession remaining before the final whistle, Austria just... goes down and scores an incredible goal at the buzzer to tie it right back up.

A tie, just like everybody expected, but with six of the unlikeliest world cup goals ever scored. Absolute heartbreak for Iran in an already heartbreaking WC.

Anthropic has been publicly forced to bend the knee to the US government. The ban on Fable and Mythos reads like censorship, and the market will read it as the TAM of the frontier labs collapsing. Instead, I read this as the opposite, as an acceleration event...

The government MUST have first access, because this is The Great Game, the game of nations over the most powerful technology ever discovered, and a technological edge of 30 to 60 days is worth everything.

It's the same edge the labs already exploit internally. You build your next model with your unreleased frontier tech, never with the public one. That private head start is what keeps you accelerating ahead of the competition or at least in line with them.

The US needs that exact advantage now. Before the public, and before the Chinese open source models can copy it. They have no choice. They cannot allow their own technology to be turned against them.

What's being negotiated, in the usual outrageous, hard-ball Trump manner, is the new arrangement:

Anthropic and OpenAI are free market operators and state vassals at the same time. Nobody wants to curtail their growth. The Gov just wants to be Customer Number 1 with privileged access.

This is the East India Company all over again. A private enterprise left free to grow rich and dominant, granted protection and a clear run by the state, on the unspoken condition that it serves the crown's strategic interests first. That charter was the price of the monopoly.

It also sends a message to China and everyone else that US AI is now so advanced the state itself has to control it. They won't, not yet anyway. They just want privileged access, the rest is posturing.

And Anthropic will bend the knee, very soon...

The hidden outcome is the one that matters. The AI firms are now near-explicitly too big to fail, which means the debt funding the capex buildout comes with an implicit state guarantee.

That accelerates the build-out of intelligence. It doesn't curtail it...

Open source accelerates too, because going open ensures no state can intervene in the model itself. Though the same Great Game rules apply there, and the Chinese state will take its own privileged access first.

So the market may wobble, convinced the TAM of AI just collapsed.

The real outcome is an acceleration of intelligence, and a Super Cycle that keeps running.
