My dog hit me in the eye while we were playing this morning. After the pain subsided I found Simon hiding on the couch in a ball, ears down, tail between his legs. He was afraid to let me pet him. It’s a stark reminder I have no idea what his life was like before I adopted him.

You say that Republicans have done nothing to change the rules. You forget or ignore that Pres. Obama nominated Merrick Garland to fill the J. Scalia vacancy on the SCOTUS. But Republican Sen’s McConnell and Graham refused to hold a hearing to consider the nominee.

*9 seats, life tenure
*Win presidential elections, you get to make nominations
*Win Senate elections, you get to confirm or stop them
*Divided government, you fight, maybe you compromise
