We don't want EdgeDesk telling you what to bet.
We want it telling you:
• where the price came from
• what the sharp market says
• how the line moved
• whether the signal survived
• and why you should probably PASS
Better research beats louder picks.

This one made me stop.
Ravens @ Colts:
Market: Indianapolis +4
EdgeDesk model: Indianapolis -1.3
That’s a 5.3-point gap.
The model isn’t just saying the spread is a little high.
It’s saying the wrong team may be favored.
Still unproven. Still research.
But this is exactly the type of disagreement I want to investigate before Week 1.
#NFL #RavensFlock #ForTheShoe #SportsBetting #NFLBetting
The market has the Chargers -11 against Arizona.
EdgeDesk’s football model has them -4.9.
That’s a 6.1-point disagreement.
Not a pick.
Not a “lock.”
But when an NFL model and the market are separated by nearly a touchdown, that matchup deserves research.
This is exactly what we’re building EdgeDesk to surface.

An edge can be real at 10 AM and completely gone by 2 PM.
That’s why saving a betting line without saving what happened AFTER it isn’t enough.
EdgeDesk flagged LIU +8.0% against Kansas when the price first appeared.
Now?
That same edge has moved to -5.7%.
The opportunity didn’t get smaller.
It disappeared.
This is the part of betting research that screenshots miss:
• when the edge appeared
• how long it survived
• whether the market confirmed it
• when the price became unplayable
Finding an edge matters.
Knowing when you’re too late matters just as much.

A +8.2% edge does NOT automatically mean you should bet it.
Fresno State is currently +1400 against USC.
EdgeDesk makes the sharp-derived fair price roughly +1287.
On paper, that creates about +8.2% expected value.
So why does EdgeDesk still say PASS?
Because EV is only as useful as the information underneath it.
At +1400, tiny changes in the estimated win probability create huge-looking percentage edges.
Fair probability at +1287: ~7.2%
Market probability at +1400: ~6.7%
That's only about a 0.5 percentage-point disagreement in actual win probability.
Yet it produces an 8%+ theoretical edge.
That's why I care about:
• sharp-market anchoring
• number of books reporting
• liquidity
• price movement
• signal history
• data quality
Not just a green EV number.
Finding an edge is step one. Deciding whether you trust it is the actual research.
Research the matchup. Then price it.

Colorado didn’t just lose pieces from the front that Georgia Tech ran through last year.
They rebuilt almost the entire thing.
That doesn’t automatically make Colorado worse.
It makes Thursday a test of continuity vs. reconstruction.
Georgia Tech brings back more of the infrastructure.
Colorado brings in more new pieces.
Now we get to see which matters first.
#CFB #CollegeFootball #GeorgiaTech #ColoradoFootball #SportsBetting
Georgia Tech is -6.5 against Colorado Thursday.
But after getting two reads wrong Saturday, I'm trying to make the question smaller.
So here's the one I keep coming back to:
Who actually has to prove something changed?
Georgia Tech ran for 320 yards on Colorado last season.
Now look at the rosters:
Georgia Tech
55 returning players
86% of RB room returning
58% of OL returning
Justice Haynes from Alabama
Colorado
29 returning players
42 transfers in
27% of OL returning
6% of DL returning
25% of LB room returning
Colorado didn't tweak the front that Georgia Tech ran through.
They rebuilt it.
That could make them better.
It also means we're being asked to price improvement before we've actually seen it.
The question isn't whether Colorado added talent.
It's whether a newly assembled front can hold up immediately against a Georgia Tech offense whose run-game infrastructure is considerably more intact.
That's the matchup I'm researching this week.
Research the matchup. Then price it.

Three independent CFB models. None were built together.
All 3 landed well short of the market on Oklahoma–UTEP.
Market: Oklahoma -41.5
Model lines: -34.0 / -36.4 / -30.5
Collective: Oklahoma -33.6
That's a 7.9-point gap.
Not calling UTEP a bet. I want to know why the market is almost 8 points higher.
Where do you make this line?

Opening Saturday gave us two losses.
NC State +5.5 ❌
Hawai‘i +5.5 ❌
And the useful part starts now.
NC State wasn’t unlucky. The read was wrong. Virginia controlled the line of scrimmage, possession and basically the entire game.
Hawai‘i was different. They came back from 23-7, took a 27-23 lead with 4:06 left, then lost 37-27.
Same result for the board. Different reasons.
That distinction matters.
Research isn’t proving why you were right.
It’s figuring out why you were wrong.
#SportsBetting #CFB #BettingResearch #EdgeDesk
NC State +5.5 wasn’t a bad beat.
It was a bad read.
Virginia: 413 yards
NC State: 168
Virginia rushing: 258
NC State rushing: 76
Virginia possession: 38:03
NC State possession: 21:57
CJ Bailey: 84 passing yards
The biggest miss in my research was treating NC State’s returning QB/offensive continuity as stability without demanding enough evidence that it would translate on the road.
It didn’t.
That assumption needs a lower weight going forward.
This is exactly why the record matters.
#CFB #CollegeFootball #SportsBetting
Following up on this because the game answered the question.
Stanford’s offense mattered more than I priced it.
Hawai‘i’s passing game gave them a path back. They erased a 23-7 deficit and actually led 27-23 late.
But Stanford finished with:
483 total yards
310 passing
173 rushing
6.8 yards/play
Hawai‘i finished with just 46 rushing yards.
The late fumble TD made the final 37-27, but blaming the loss on one play would miss the point.
My pregame research focused too heavily on Stanford’s coverage.
I didn’t price the other side of the matchup strongly enough.
That gets logged.
#CFB #CollegeFootball #HawaiiFootball #SportsBetting
The market can be right about the teams and still be wrong about the matchup.
Hawai‘i has the better-established QB.
Stanford’s biggest weakness last year was coverage.
That matters more to me than who has the better RB room or more returning starters.
If Micah Alejado is seeing the field the way he did last season, Stanford has to prove its secondary is actually fixed.
That’s the whole question tonight.
Price the matchup, not the logo.
#CFB #CollegeFootball #SportsBetting
I don’t want EdgeDesk to find 20 bets every Saturday.
I want it to tell me when there are 18 games I should leave alone.
The workflow:
QB play.
Pass rush.
Pass protection.
Coverage.
Explosives.
Price.
Then ask what the data actually knows, what it doesn’t, and whether the market has already priced it in.
No locks. No guaranteed winners. No pretending a model is smarter than the market when it isn’t.
That’s what I built EdgeDesk for.

Research, not picks. 21+
#SportsBetting #CFB #BettingResearch #EdgeDesk
Colorado’s offensive line is one of the most interesting Week 1 experiments.
They allowed 38 sacks last season.
So they rebuilt the room through the portal: 8 OL transfers, only 27% returning.
That should make them better.
But better players ≠ instant pass protection.
Georgia Tech gets the first test.
New linemen still have to pass off twists, identify pressure and communicate together.
The question isn’t whether Colorado fixed the talent.
It’s whether they fixed the protection by Game 1.
#CFB #GeorgiaTech #ColoradoFootball #CollegeFootball
Stanford is favored today.
But strip the logos off and this is the matchup I keep coming back to:
Hawai‘i returns a QB who threw for 3,100+ yards and 24 TDs.
Stanford is trying to repair one of the worst pass defenses in the country.
The question isn’t “can Hawai‘i upset Stanford?”
It’s whether Stanford’s coverage has improved enough to justify the price.
That’s what I’m watching tonight.
Research the matchup. Then price it.
#CFB #CollegeFootball #HawaiiFootball #SportsBetting
Football is back. 🏈
First three numbers on my CFB research board:
NC State +5.5
Georgia Tech -6.5
Hawaii +5.5
Not interested in blindly picking teams. The number has to make sense, and when the price disappears, so does the edge.
The process doesn’t change. The sport does.
Full football market coverage returns September 1.
#CFB #CollegeFootball #SportsBetting
Why these numbers made my board:
NC State +5.5
C.J. Bailey gives NC State continuity at QB while Virginia replaces important offensive production from last year’s team.
I want the points, though. At +5.5 there’s room for NC State to lose a competitive game and still cover.
My price: +4.5 or better.
Georgia Tech -6.5
Colorado enters 2026 with another heavily reconstructed roster. Tech has questions of its own, especially replacing Haynes King, so I’m not interested in blindly laying points.
The important part is -6.5.
I’m willing to lay less than a TD. I’m not interested in chasing through 7.
My price: -6.5 or better.

First gameday of college football. Thankful for the sport, and for a fresh season of real games to test the model against. Raw model vs market, every number earned, no fake edges. Let the season grade us. 🏈📊 #ThankfulThursday#CFB
