Year 1 have been learning about why we play with different toys as we grow older. We have been thinking about the toys we play with and toys from the past.
Today we had an author visit from the fantastic Iona Rangeley! We loved asking her lots of questions about the writing process and were able to purchase signed copies of her books at the end of the day.
Eco-champion litter pick! Today we did a litter pick around our school field. We collected lots of rubbish, especially around the perimeter fence where it collects or blows in from outside.
Eco-champions litter pick - in the words of one of our eco-champions "saving the planet is fun!" We hope that this will become a regular event and that we can inspire children to be responsible, not to drop litter and to re-use and recycle wherever possible.
Today some of the children from Edgebury visited the Unicorn Theatre, London Bridge to see 'The Invisible Man.' We travelled by bus and train and really enjoyed seeing the story unfold on the stage!
This week we have been raising autism awareness and acceptance within our school...today we raised money for The National Autistic Society 'Spectrum of Colour' campaign. We will let everyone know how much we've managed to raise after the holidays!
Yesterday our Edgebury Eco-Champions help to plant 30 trees to form a copse at the top of our school field. Elizabeth Dunning, our school gardener helped us to plant them. We can't wait to see them grow!
