Everyone who lives in Scotland – whether you were born here or decided to make Scotland your home – epitomises Scotland’s values of hope, tolerance and solidarity.
These are values that must be cherished, nurtured and protected. We must all come together to ensure that.
We must all stand united in utter condemnation of the heinous attack that took place in Edinburgh. Anti-Muslim hatred is abhorrent, and we must not allow recent attempts to stoke fear to divide us.
🧵 There is no place for race-based or faith-based violence in Scotland.
My thoughts are with all who have been impacted by the appalling violence on Friday - the victims but also the communities who are understandably anxious by what happened.
@euanmccolm There was more than one result last night.
In Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, Lara Bird won the seat on Scotland's east coast for the SNP with a majority of more than 5,000 votes over the Conservatives.
When Douglas Alexander breached the ministerial code by failing to declare he'd met with Mandelson's former lobbying firm BBC Scotland steadfastly refused to pursue the story. Andrew Kerr sent one message asking for Alexander to comment, which he ignored. No follow up. The story just died.
There's no mechanism or appetite within BBC Scotland for pursuing the BritNat parties. None whatsoever. The SNP issued calls for an inquiry into Alexander and it wasn't even reported by BBC BritNat. From Sarwar's election bots and the numerous scandals involving senior Scottish Labour figures [two awaiting trial and whatever happened to Foysol Choudhury?] the Labour party gets a free pass.
📈 More young people are moving into work, training, or education after leaving school.
💪 The gap between those from the most and least deprived communities is narrowing. @theSNP is helping more young people succeed, with free tuition, student support and more apprenticeships.
Radio BritNat Breakfast is this morning asking how Scottish Labour politicians feel about the Makerfield by-election where they are all campaigning and completely disinterested in why these 'Scottish' Labour politicians aren't campaigning in the two *Scottish* by-elections.
He hasn’t refused—he’s just supported broadening it out to include all political parties—but don’t let the truth get in the way of your disgraceful politicking!!
What a despicable rag the Record is?!?
Congrats on the win, @ScotlandNT! 🏴
Between the bagpipes, the kilts, and thousands of Scotland fans turning Boston into their home away from home, the Tartan Army has made quite an impression on Massachusetts. It’s only fitting that I have my own kit and tartan for the next match.
BBC BritNat guest Stephen McGinty allowed to breach electoral guidelines on The Sunday Show by deliberately name checking the Tory candidate in the Aberdeen South by-election. This is unacceptable. The BBC needs to stop presenting Unionists like McGinty as neutral.
@msm_monitor Report them to the electoral commission if one party was given a plug and the other candidates standing were not mentioned on screen as it's a breach of electoral rules totally unacceptable is it happened
"unknown actors"? Don't think so, MI5, 77th Brigade, Mossad, BlackCore ????? https://t.co/AeN2JAvcyl We now know that British/Israeli security forces are interfering in Scottish democracy & will continue to do so. Time every Scot realised what is going on.
