🇺🇸 LO ÚLTIMO: Jacob Coxon, investigador de Anthropic, renunció a la compañía y advirtió que la carrera hacia la superinteligencia podría "eliminarnos a todos" antes de 2030.

Coxon dijo que Anthropic y OpenAI están avanzando hacia sistemas de IA capaces de mejorarse a sí mismos y acusó a las empresas de estar "apostando nuestras vidas". Según él, quienes construyen estos modelos creen en privado que la inteligencia artificial podría matar a todos los humanos antes del final de la década.

La advertencia fue respaldada por Evan Hubinger, responsable de Alignment Science en Anthropic, quien afirmó que esa preocupación es real y estimó el riesgo en más del 10% durante los próximos diez años.

El caso no prueba que exista una fecha de extinción ni que ese escenario vaya a ocurrir. Pero sí muestra que investigadores dentro de la industria están alertando públicamente sobre los riesgos de una superinteligencia fuera de control.

This is Bonnie Pierce, a 38-year-old mother of three from St. Paul, Minnesota. Her house caught fire. She and two of her children escaped, then realized her toddler was still inside.
Bonnie went back in, found the child, but could not get out. She shielded the child with her body. She died from her burns. The child survived.
A GoFundMe for her family raised about $42,000.
By comparison, more than $1,000,000 was raised on GoFundMe for Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing her children.
It is a sad reflection of the society we have become.

Callan Clancy was only 8 months old.

On January 24, 2023, his mother strangled him and his two siblings with exercise bands. Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3, died that night.

But Callan survived long enough to be taken to the hospital.

He arrived at the Plymouth ER in cardiac arrest. Doctors fought to save him. They gave him epinephrine, restarted his heart, intubated him, continued CPR, and flew him to Boston Children’s Hospital.

His heart was beating, but his brain had suffered catastrophic damage.

His Glasgow Coma Scale score remained a 3, the lowest possible score. His pupils were fixed and dilated. There was massive swelling in his brain from oxygen deprivation. Ligature marks remained around his neck.

Doctors performed the brain death protocol twice, 24 hours apart.

Callan never breathed on his own.

He never responded.

On January 27, after his father was consulted, life support was withdrawn. Callan was pronounced dead at 11:18 a.m.

His heart continued beating for three days.

His brain never recovered.

Callan was 8 months old.

That is why there was a third murder charge.

Three days on machines. Three days while doctors fought for a baby who never got another chance.
