7pm update
The fireworks are proceeding as planned at this point. We will continue to monitor the weather closely and push out updates should delays or cancellations be needed.
Thank you to everyone who waited out the weather with us and enjoyed the City of Edina 4th of July Parade.
We are monitoring the weather for tonight’s Souza band and Fireworks show. The events will happen with light rain but cannot proceed with lightening.
National weather service reports severe weather is passing. We will begin the parade preparation at 11 o’clock with an estimated parade start time between 1115 and 1130.
It looks like the rain will be diminishing over the next 20 minutes along with the lightning. As of right now we are going to begin preparing for an 11 AM start time. Next update will be 10:45 AM.
We are monitoring lightening to the west within the parade vicinity.
The national weather service reports high likelihood we will be effected by this weather. The start of the parade will be delayed as we monitor the weather.
Next update will be 1015.
With the potential for rain & storms tomorrow, event organizers are watching the forecast. In case of inclement weather, check @EdinaMN or Edina Parade Twitter or Facebook for how it might affect scheduled activities. Parade is a rain or shine event except for dangerous weather.
Each year parade team member John Currie creates a map of the full route with queue/parking/route info for participants. In case it’s helpful, you’ll find it on our website:
