@CFB_Pat My point is, we have two fair systems, so I'd rather have the one that is clearly more fun and generates more meaningful matches. If GD was the tiebreaker we could have had a much better setup for MD3
@CFB_Pat If GD was the tiebreaker then we could have a match where USA wouldn't rest their players because they could still lose 1st place, and Turkey would go all out trying to score as many as possible. Instead we will have eliminated Turkey against USA backups
@TruthMatters92@JJNN_2@thee_ovie I never said to ignore a fair system for the sake of fun. Goal difference is also a fair and widely used tiebreaker.
If two systems are fair, I don't see what's anti-sporting about preferring the one that keeps more teams alive and creates more meaningful matches.
@TruthMatters92@timreiners9@thee_ovie Now we have a game that USA will rest a bunch of its players, and Turkey is already eliminated. We could've had a game where USA wouldn't rest their players(because they could still lose 1st if GD was the tiebreaker) and Turkey going all out to try and win scoring a lot of goals
@TruthMatters92@timreiners9@thee_ovie Thanks for insulting me for free, that's very respectful of you. You're acting like I'm saying we should sacrifice fairness for fun, and that's clearly not the case, the sport always comes first.
Both systems are fair, so I'd rather have the one that is more fun
@ggs21725470@thee_ovie Your own argument goes against you, because let's suppose that happened, then it's Australia's and Paraguay's own fault for not beating USA, just like Turkey being in this situatuon is their fault for not winning so far
@Nisanth_2711@thee_ovie My point is not about being fair, is about being fun. Goal difference is not even unfair and is much more fun. H2H kills some potential great games.
@timreiners9@thee_ovie Read what you said. I used Cape Verde and DR Congo examples to explain to you that football is unpredictable. So it doesn't matter if they couldn't score until now, there's always the possibility they could score a bunch against USA and give us a banger of a match.
@CarryOn96@thee_ovie I'm not Turkish and in football you can never take anything for granted.
South Korea lost to Sweden and Mexico and still went on to beat Germany and eliminate them in 2018. So Turkey could have a great day against USA and give us a banger of a match. But H2H has robbed us of this
@JJNN_2@thee_ovie My point is not about fairness, but fun. Goal difference is not even unfair, and it's much more fun, so yeah, H2H is robbing us of potential great matches
@kumar_sant73095@thee_ovie You can never predict what will happen in football, I'm sure you didn't expect Cape Verde to hold Spain goalless.
Even if they failed to score a single goal until now, they could wake up to a great day vs USA and give us an entertaining match, that's how football goes
@timreiners9@thee_ovie I'm not even Turkish, I just like football... so yeah, we lost a potential great game between them and USA.
And also, nobody expected DR Congo and Cape Verde to hold Portugal and Spain to a draw. So what if they failed to score until now, football is unpredictable, you never know
@osilvarenaan@Enos_Kats@esporteperolas Jorge Iggor é muito bom pô, se você não gosta dele é por questão de gosto pessoal, não se pode negar que ele é um grande profissional
