Some photos from November's monthly meal hosted by @HeartySquirrel. The co-op is glad to be part of hosting a space to feed a whole bunch of students and create a place for conversation surrounding food sovereignty, relationship building, and reciprocity.

Recently, some of our co-op members chatted with fellow students at @StrathUnion. We talked about how we can continue to advocate for more equitable housing options for students in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and beyond both through our universities and in our governments!

Earlier this month we met with students on the architecture and planning masters at London School of Economics, to talk about our cooperative, the wider cooperative model and radical housing solutions. It was great to see so many people interested! @LSEsociology

The Scottish government, local authorities and universities need to seriously consider what they can do to support an increase in supply under this model.

Yesterday, five members attended a cross-party housing group at the Scottish parliament.

We believe that the cost of Purpose-Built Student Accommodations (PBSAs) needs to become more affordable, and tenants rights for students living within these facilities need to be granted.

We believe that housing cooperatives, where tenants can independently manage their homes and set their rents, are the best way to guarantee affordable student housing.
