@PeteWishart Attack on basic liberties and privacy? FFS, The SNPs Covid passport - needed to enter pubs, nightclubs and football - was later deemed to have broken data laws. The Scottish Government spent £7,000,000 on their Covid Certification scheme.
Let's ban every government minister and the rates assessor from their local pub until the business rates are fixed.
Business rates are having a terrible impact on businesses across Scotland, particularly in hospitality.
What will it take to make the government officials and rates assessor understand the damage they are doing?
The SNP have done nothing for the Scottish pub trade, especially post covid. The last lot of business rates money - tens of millions - wasn’t passed on to tenants/operators and was effectively diverted from the industry.

This week hundreds of Scottish pubs seen unsustainable business rates increases - some by 3x current rates. They’ll simply close the doors after recent NI/wage hikes. Completely unsustainable. Scottish Government needs to step in fast and help.
