Went from architect-in-training to proofreader by way of librarianship. Ambassador to extraterrestrials; full-time sarcasm-generator. That's not my name.
@LeahLibresco One of the offices where I had an ultrasound once told me they needed the TV on for "privacy purposes," so I have a suspicion it's because the walls are way too thin. (my peds office doesn't have a TV though and I'm so grateful. just a fishtank!)
Would just like to take the chance to thank the taxpayers of America and specifically Pennsylvania for subsidising my pregnancy snacks with kid #2 when my family was on SNAP a couple years ago. Bad food is better than no food.
@LeahLibresco One time I had a super vivid nightmare that I'd agreed to teach a class I'd never taught before and had to literally write a syllabus in front of a heckling community college class.
(I still have not yet taught at the university level.)
@feminaprovita honestly Aldi had a two-pack of green plastic ones recently that I grabbed to use for veggies (bamboo is ALSo rough on your knives, I learned) and now I use red (flimsy, floppy, kinda shitty) for meat and green for veggies. Brown wood for good breads.
I was SO excited to attend @DoxaconPrime this weekend but my husband is surprise Miserably Sick, so we're stuck at home. I'll still be giving my talk by Zoom, but I'm so sorry to miss the camaraderie this year!
@LeahLibresco For a while we had a moderately complicated Star-Wars themed rhyming slang, but it didn't survive. ("admiral" was how we called snack bars, and "Chewbacca" was a cookie.)
@IvanaDGreco@LeahLibresco WIC is overseen by the USDA and has some general regulations that are then determined in different specific ways by the state. (PA doesn't let you buy whole milk at all, as far as I can tell, as a recipient.)
... that being said, my theory? dairy lobby. cream sells for more $$$.
@feminaprovita2 I think the time won't really change, but if you're really worried about the cooking or whatever, stir it at the 3-minute mark and give it another 3 (for 6 in total) and see how the texture looks.
@feminaprovita2 ... you might still have the wrong size flanges then bc pumping is definitely not supposed to hurt (tho I didn't do it with a Fresh Newborn, but it took me a while of office days and some research to get the right one)
@feminaprovita2 uhhhhh I'd probably have to look at the offenders to give you my theory because I have the reverse problem (my shirt necklines creep down so my bra hangs out)
@feminaprovita2 I'm just saying that I'm absolutely qualified to be part of the project and maybe when my kids are bigger I'll seriously think about taking this show on the road
I've seen a LOT of church architecture in my career - but never anything remotely like this. It is, literally, a US Army Quonset hut, split in half and spread apart so a clerestory could be added for light.
