@TheMaineWire Seems gross and polluting the water is not good, but is this man homeless or almost at that point? If so, give him grace or tangible help.
For centuries, kings and tyrants kept the Bible in Latin for a simple reason: if you can't read the truth for yourself, you're easy to control.
William Tyndale decided to fix that. He knew he would receive the death penalty just for printing the Bible in English so regular people could read it in their own homes. He did it anyways. Pages had to be smuggled across Europe in sacks of flour and rice, and if you were caught holding even one page, you were burned alive. His final prayer as he was executed at the stake was simply that God would open the king's eyes.
THAT is what it took to get the Bible to you. Today, every single one of us has 24/7 access to that exact text sitting right in our pockets—yet how many of us actually open it?
