These might be among the most beautiful objects I own. @unpaginated’s design is breathtaking, worthy of the marvels described by Kleist and Eric Williams herein. “Bound and printed in the City of Philadelphia”.
It's publication day for Some Essays by Heinrich von Kleist (trans. @unpaginated) and Vaucanson's Canard by Eric Williams. Incidentally, Kleist founded his daily newspaper, the Berliner Abendblätter, on this day in 1810.

“Do you really believe machines can think?”
If you miss Eric Williams coming real in this place, here's a fat dose on automata. Would advise, if you have not done so, ordering his new "Vaucanson's Canard" from Paradise Editions and his immortal weird-fic collection Toadstones.
Our @Geoliminal, lately not of this site and something of a mad scientist himself, has written a fascinating short history of automata in weird fiction. Read it and get a copy of "Vaucanson's Canard", which uses that background to fascinating effect: https://t.co/rlAOw4oUS9

I've noticed an alarming trend w/ small presses: 3 times now I've REQUESTED review copies & received no reply, no book. I've been reviewing for decades & have reviews all over the 'Net. Its harder than ever to get reviewed so this is an epic fail on the part of these presses.
For the Almanac, I wrote a short personal appreciation of the historian Carlo Ginzburg and his exploration of the subterranean depths of human experience: https://t.co/brloyjWiux
“Copal Diharce, 1947-2015,” the biography of a utopian philosopher, is now available at @MinorLits: https://t.co/nD0Yv8Uabj
Many thanks to Tobias and the team.
Phoretics (@Editio3Paradise) is now one year old. Although its publication was limited to 50 handmade copies, you can find all of its contents online (see the links below).
I remain very grateful to Matthew for his editing skills and scrupulous craft.
