The @MiamiHerald is gaining a helluva talented reporter, storyteller + watchdog. I loved our time together at @heraldleader. He knows readers demand ** real ** journalism + more than just utilitarian AI-driven content. Kick ass, Austin. I’ll be watching + cheering from IOWA.
Today is day number 2 at the Miami Herald and my email ([email protected]) is live! Looking forward to getting to know South Florida better & doing some great work here.
Please reach out with any news, tips, food recs, camping recs, etc.

I got introduced to Peabo Bryson at @ohiou in the late 80s. Man, he had silky-smooth pipes + a great musician. RIP to the Voice of Love https://t.co/hn6Pl9Rci9 via @NYTimes
Absolute bullshit. Bullshit from the Pacers and bullshit from the Fever. Minor league stuff. Nobody covers both franchises more thoroughly than Scott. This is flat out wrong.
Yeah, it’s the best damn day of the year in IOWA…at least until Nov . 3. And yeah, most of the Newsroom is scattered around waiting for polls to close at 8 pm. But it’s ELECTION NIGHT — there must be pizza! Cheers from The Gazette in beautiful Cedar Rapids. #electionnightpizza
@EditorRAG Rick, we wouldn't have this outcome without the clear and ethical leadership out of the H-L. You all fulfilled what Pulitzer said: "Our aim and our policy should be simple, earnest, and courageous in the public interest." Thank you.
You know my love of @courierjournal but y’all have been 4 steps behind since a LEX outlet broke this story. A late-FRI publish on Mom’s Day weekend means it’s DOA. It’s his town, district + voters + you’re the local voice. What’s unfair is too few there know about his behavior.
@EditorRAG Should we wait until Monday to publish? Should we have published before our reporting was finished? It was pushed at 5:30 so that part of your post is inaccurate. Nothing but respect for Alex and Austin and their reporting but this is unfair.
But…I do wonder why an important story like this is posted so late on a Friday afternoon when there’s such little traffic, didn’t receive a push alert + won’t get much social media love on Mother’s Day weekend. “Here’s a story we really don’t want you to read,” it seems to say
Good to see @courierjournal matching the Herald-Leader + sharing the latest accusations against a Louisville legislator w/ LOU readers + voters. Hope both outlets stay on this important story before primary day. https://t.co/MxocWOqNWP via @courierjournal
Now I really, really miss Kentucky this week. You gotta see The Derby, Beastie Boys. Hope you come to Louisville https://t.co/pnp7lMKFe0 via @courierjournal
I think about this scene often. It’s from the movie A River Runs Through It. Turn up the volume and give this a listen before bed.
You won’t regret it.
Ask yourself and your newsroom how you all feel about #AI — it’s here to stay so figure out how you’re going to use it and what you need to learn. #CMANYC26
As more details of El Mencho’s death in Mexico emerge today, the @courierjournal in Louisville 7 years ago published a series of exhaustive, in-depth investigative stories about CJNG + its leader’s “American Empire.” It was highly relevant in KY. https://t.co/8MWuP9I4Ll
What an unbelievable chapter in US history + even more amazing contributions. I’d love to hear more about your Dad’s work. The Code Talkers are American heroes. RIP
A grateful nation thanks him. My father, a WWII vet,was in signal corps and at some point crossed paths with some of the Code Talkers. After he died, I found a photo of some of them in his belongings. Would love to know the story,
