Field Training in Action! A traffic stop quickly turns into a pursuit through Edmond. With guidance from FTO Guillemette, Officer Mirkes works through each decision in real time. Strong teamwork throughout, including FTO Pitcher and Officer Meadors, whose vehicle was struck but were able to continue assisting in the pursuit.
Game 6 tonight in San Antonio and we’re all in on the Thunder! ⚡️
Big shout-out to our Edmond PD honor guard for proudly presenting the colors at Game 5 on Tuesday night — they represented us well on a big stage.
Let’s go Thunder! Bring it home tonight! 💙🏀
As our community enjoys time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the true meaning of today — honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
From all of us at the Edmond Police Department, we wish everyone a safe Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
The Edmond Police Department would like to thank the citizens who have made us aware of flyers and social media posts advertising parties at Arcadia Lake tonight.
At this time, there are no registered events or parties at Arcadia Lake associated with the flyers currently circulating online.
Edmond Police officers will be patrolling the lake areas throughout the entire Memorial Day weekend with a focus on maintaining the safety and peace of everyone enjoying the lake, parks, and campgrounds.
If anyone is interested in hosting an event at Arcadia Lake, please contact the Arcadia Lake Park Office at 405-216-7470 for information regarding permits and event registration.
Congratulations to Libby, Benjamin, and Laken, the winners of the Edmond Policing Board’s 3rd Annual Jr. Police Chief Essay Contest!
Each year, 4th grade students from all @EdmondSchools are invited to participate by responding to the prompt: “If I were the Police Chief of Edmond, to make the city a safer place to live, I would…”
A great opportunity to hear from our future leaders and celebrate their ideas for a safer community!

A good resource for teens, parents, and honestly… some of the rest of us too. Whether you’re a brand-new driver or just need a refresher, knowing what to do during a traffic stop can help ease nerves and keep the interaction calm and clear.
You can also find more information and a printable resource on our website here: https://t.co/bqXGQUjdUF
We’re asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of the vehicle pictured.
On the morning of May 15, a mother was dropping her child off at a daycare near 15th and Kelly when a suspect stole her purse from her vehicle. A brief pursuit was initiated by officers, but called off as they approached an elementary school.
The suspect vehicle is described as a white Dodge Durango displaying a black and yellow vanity plate reading “TIRESLYR,” which is not a valid or traceable registration plate.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Edmond Police Department.

On July 19, 2022, Edmond Police Sgt. C.J. Nelson died while serving the Edmond community. Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember CJ’s sacrifice, honor his legacy, and reaffirm our promise that he will never be forgotten.
Please join us in honoring and remembering CJ and all fallen peace officers across our nation. 💙🖤#PoliceWeek #PeaceOfficersMemorialDay
Mother’s Day evening shift: stopping traffic and negotiating with some very protective Canada geese. 🪿🚓 Edmond Police Officers Guilemette and Bell stopped traffic to help this goose family safely cross 4 busy lanes. Some brave citizens stepped in when the curb was too high for the goslings. Some words were exchanged between the geese and the officers… but at the end of the day — and on Mother’s Day evening — you’ve gotta appreciate a sassy mama protecting her babies. 💛
Tonight, we invite our community to join us at the Edmond Police Department at 8:15 p.m. as we light the memorial blue in honor of National Police Week.
This week, we remember and honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities, and we recognize the dedication of those who continue to serve every day. 💙 #NationalPoliceWeek #EdmondPD
