Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸
This is a must-read.
@BenSasse continues to amaze me.
“What does Sasse think life will be like in Heaven? ‘I don’t know, but I believe that every good thing will be there and more,’ he tells me. He thinks of a line from J.R.R. Tolkien that all things sad will come untrue.”
Coach: "He did enough to be ejected... He made remarks to our dugout..."
Reporter: "What did he say?"
Coach: "...3633 people yelling at the top of their lungs, I'm not sure, but it wasn't good."
Reporter 2: "What did he say? What made you so mad?"
Coach: "I couldn't hear it."
A winner again. Maconite Russell Henley beat Eric Cole in a playoff to win the Charles Schwab Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas. More to come in The Central Georgia Sports Report this evening and in the morning.
My favorite Bible verse is Revelation 21:4.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
The thought of God personally wiping away out tears is just so amazing to me.
Life on earth is hard, but one day all Christians will be in a place where there is no pain or suffering or sorrow. Just eternal joy in the presence of our Savior.
I hope to see you all there.

The @Braves game is blacked out on the paid BravesTV MLB app and isn’t being shown on @MLBONFOX or any Fox channel in Nashville.
Shouldn’t happen in #BravesCountry .
If @FPDVikingSports had any nerves or stress in its third straight state championship series visit after two crushing defeats, it didn't show. Next team meeting: sizing for title rings?
