"Machine" by MISTERWIVES is definitely going on my playlist. "Not part of your machine" mhm girl you already know im tired of these stereotypes allowing the men in our lives to feel as if its acceptable to prejudice against us.
Oates your poem speaks to me "by mid-afternoon everything is forgotten." Those words describe the day in the life of a woman. Shoving our feelings to the side as if it's easy but it's what our men expect from us. #tragic
I want to be loved and not viewed as an object. Every husband should give their wives attention, but unfortunately me along side many other women dont recieve that. Abigail Adams thank you for trying to give us women the status we deserve.
My husband and I relationship has faded through time. Dave Barry helped me have a clearer understanding why. Leonce fits right under the category of "a guy", he's constantly in a competition with himself.
Isn't it ironic that Paul Broca a qualified physician had a "science experiment" where he juxtapose younger men to older women, with the results that women are less intelligent.
A1: If I can ask Kate Chopin a question it would be if she went through similar experiences as Edna. Has she found her self not fulfilling her happiness by living up to others expectations at one point of her life? #kchopinchat
A5: In the beginning of the book Edna talks when she was running through the field, representing the freedom she's always wanted. The ocean just like the field can be viewed as both endless & represent her last moment of freedom. #kchopinchat
A3: Edna clearly never felt fulfilled with her life. She did what was expected in society like getting married having kids and yet it still didnt fulfill her happiness because it was never the lifestyle she really wanted.
A8: Edna story relates to stereotypes about women because like in the book she's expected to take care of the children but unlike most women during the time she stood out by showing some independence and not always following the 'rules' of society. #kchopinchat
WU: Hey my name is Sabrina and I am a Junior at WJPS. I feel that I find myself mainly relating to Edna because as a teenager I am still learning and dicovering new things aswell as being unsure of where I see myself in the future. #kchopinchat
Sometimes as a women we feel like we need to hide our insecurities and imperfections with materialistic things like a new dress or shoes. I'm guilty of that. As I read "so long as you don't lift her dress, right?" in Cisneros essay 'Barbie Q' I had a eye opening moment.
As I admire Norman Rockwell's painting it's almost as if I'm looking at myself. It represents my life and relationship with leonce, as a women and a wife all I want is love and attention from the man I'm so suppose to be with my whole life. #InMyBag 💔
