@priyakkumar Really wish Native Americans would have been a definable group in your stats and graphics. South Dakota, Arizona, Oklahoma, etc. all disproportionately impact this underserved, high poverty (lowest income btw) and, at least on your graphics, mostly erased, group. Do better data
@smerconish Downside of college app process at more elite schools this year is that students who are not equipped for success may be accepted and over their heads, resulting in debt and demoralization. Colleges need to be ready. Access is not enough without the tools for success.
@SteveSchmidtSES Conservatives R now homeless. The huge Republican turn-out 4 Trump is sadly endorsing something scary. There is no longer a home for conservative ideals. The Lincoln Project should now organize a 3rd and truly conservative party to provide a home for the sensible. Pivot and lead!
Listen to Trump's final word on his admin's separation of children from their parents "Good." Clip unedited...exactly as said in context:
@ProjectLincoln
@JoeBiden Joe. Hold a presser tonight. Say you would be enthusiastic to testify in the trial. Enthusiastic to tell them what you think of this president.
Take away their talking points.
Show you have nothing to hide, including your contempt for this man's actions.
Stand up to Trump
@jgeller_phd@DTWillingham Don't be so biased: Not all qs work because of RT. Pre-lecture qs can also work because they encourage reading before lecture. 10-12 studies over the years on that.
Try Teaching of Psych, etc. One last year that included an RT condition.
Seek and Ye Shall Find dear scientist.
@DTWillingham PS. They are low-stakes, not no stakes. Only 1 mapped the questions to the exam (RT condition). They just used random Qs from the TB and get a significant increase on later exam scores.
Pre-lecture quizzes work because they make students read before lecture, not because of RT.
@DTWillingham Wrong literature. Retrieval Practice people think they invented good quizzing but they can't get people to do do it. Sounds like a bad literature to use for teaching!
There are several successful interventions using pre-lecture/post-reading quizzes in the teaching of psych lit.
Really? I want teachers to know that I am a reader.
But, I am also a kinesthetic learner.
So, I have to throw my books at #StudentVoice and EQUC to get anything useful from this tripe.

@DrBradJohnson@mamabooch1 Really? Is it REALLY that easy? Are teachers REALLY that perfect when supported?
Or are simplistic populist tweets just more likely to get traffic?
Silly wabbits: You just proved the opposite of your main point.

Education has always seemed to be focused on fixing teachers. Teachers don’t need to be fixed but they do need to be supported, encouraged, inspired & appreciated. Maybe Education should focus more on developing leaders who can support, encourage, inspire & appreciate teachers.
