Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit. His murder is as tragic as it is enraging. He should still be alive today, and he would be if the last few generations of European elites had stood their ground against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it.

Henry was far from the first to so needlessly lose his life, and I fear he won’t be the last. Each time a life like his is lost, the proper response—the only response—is righteous anger. One of the most important things the Trump administration has proven to the world is that stopping the flow of mass migration and defending national sovereignty is a matter of political will and leadership. Anything else is an excuse.

It is because we love the West that we want to preserve it. We love our civilization. We love our country. We love our children. And nobody—nobody—should ever die the way that Henry Nowak died. May God comfort those who loved him, and may God rest his soul.

Hallucinante terugblik van @volkskrant ombuds Loes Reijmer op douchemuntjes stuk van @Natalie_Kabul . Ondanks liegende minister én woordvoerder stelt Reijmer op eigen gezag dat het nieuws “luchtig” was wat vooraf instemming hoofdredactie had moeten krijgen voor brekend nieuws.

Vandaag sprak ik met de opdrachtgever van de moord op Jamal Khashoggi. Ik betuig mijn solidariteit met het land waarin vrijheid van meningsuiting wordt beknot, regelmatig executies en lijfstraffen worden uitgevoerd en vrouwen hebben veel minder rechten dan mannen hebben.

I expressed my solidarity with Saudi Arabia. Iran must cease its attacks on the civilian infrastructure of the Gulf states, including oil and gas installations. It is also of the utmost importance that Iran lifts the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.

Finally, we spoke briefly about the strong and historic ties between our countries and agreed to remain in contact in the coming period.

With the Pentagon making detailed preparations for deploying U.S. ground forces into Iran, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says he cannot disclose details of discussions with the Trump administration on support from Europe, but went on to say “the U.K. is at the forefront of leading this effort” to secure the Strait of Hormuz.

“I’ve been on a phone call this week with Prime Minister Starmer and President Macron, and again, this has led to 22 countries now signing up to this initiative,” he tells @margbrennan.
