@austin_okere 1. Proximity. If a third space is not in walking distance it produces a level of friction that people may not be willing to overcome.
2. Competition. Social media has become the third.
3. Safety. Parents don’t feel safe sending kids to third spaces like friends houses.
This quarter zip trend is actually divisive and aligns with respectability politics.
In the same week you have Michelle Obama saying she knew she couldn’t have braids to get her job at the law firm, we are now debating and arguing how a quarter zip sweater is respectable?
