Proud husband, father, billiard player, and teacher candidate at UNBC School of Education (Secondary Cohort). Received a Degree in Psychology in 2012 from TRU.
Did you know the @EducationUnbc is hosting an online job fair on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 1-3pm. We have 24 school districts and independent schools recruiting. This is the time to be a K-12 teacher in BC. #unbced#bced
I have, and continue to appreciate how place, land, and experiential learning was a primary focus at UNBC. I have made many lifelong friends and a lifelong support network that I know I will carry for a lifetime♥️ We need more teachers!!!! Apply to this amazing program! #unbced
@KatieWhite426@RosePillay1@cpeck3 I'm reading your book "Softening the Edges." It is immensely helping my knowledge of assessment. I can see it helping me answer these tough questions when I'm in the classroom as well. Reminding me of the necessary reciprocal relationship between student and teacher.#UNBC#unbced
Day 1 @RNeedoba in my life as an educator. My ADST Maker Project to drive a Social Studies 10 class- Created for @UNBC EDUC 421/399 Collaboration. Would love to use this in a class one day once I flesh out more about the design, criteria, content and curriculum #unbced#makerday.
Listening to a talk by @dleeming2 about the work being done in @SD8KootenayLk. Amazing program design, school structure, student engagement, co-planning, freedom, cross-curricular and inclusive breadth. This is a system that excites me. @mssacademypm. #EdTech#Progress#TheNow
@BCTENetwork, presentation by @SkyChinook on transformative learning was legendary. I found so much value linking @ChristineYH and @teacherbellwood's discussion about identity with work being done to build student awareness of self and "felt intuition" as @SkyChinook defined.
Awesome day yesterday at the @BCTENetwork conference! Such a blast to share and listen to educators in bc! As @cordell_jm said, we all have a shared heart to do good for others. So evident to within our community of educators. #unbced#UNBC#teachercandidate#findyourwhy
@HartNation Thank you so much for having me! It was a pleasure to learn in such a great environment focused on relationships and collaboration. Even more, it was wonderful to see these values reflected in the student body. I look forward to returning!
@erinbarker84 @EducationUnbc@SD57PG Hahaha. Yes, nice looking compass.@erinbarker84. Just shifted back into gear for classes this evening. Thank you again for having me! miss being in the classroom already. Thanks for having me @HartNation. I had a blast and hope to come back in later days to teacher and grow.
Yesterday evening I received my Covid-19 vaccine. Then I went to a frozen lake to dance Bhangra on it for joy, hope and positivity, which I'm forwarding across Canada and beyond for everyone's health and wellbeing.
Day 6 @HipHipHooRae! This week we are starting a novel study with @erinbarker84's grade 9s. Murder mystery set in the 1960s southern USA. Really enjoyed talking with the class about racism, segregation, discrimination, and prejudice #MLKjr#MalcomX#CivilRights
Have you checked out the Student Testimonials and 2020 Legacy Project? Thank you Class of 2020 from #unbced for your contributions and voice. You were integral to the @EducationUnbc B.Ed. Renewal. #ThisIsUNBC
Awesome field trip today! Walked to the Black Creek estuary to see the remains of an Indigenous fishing weir, found and learned about Indigenous plants, and saw the fish counting station. Even with 12k steps and a wind burn, it was such a fun day!
