EARTHQUAKE ALERT: Naitala ang magnitude 4.2 na lindol sa katubigan malapit sa Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental kaninang 9:27 PM, ayon sa PHIVOLCS.

Isa itong aftershock ng naitalang magnitude 7.8 na lindol sa Sarangani noong June 8, dagdag ng ahensiya.

An ice jam on the Athabasca River north of Fort McMurray is causing water levels to rise. The water is currently high on the Athabasca underneath the bridge, however these levels are being monitored closely.

At this time, there are no evacuation alerts or orders in place. Low-lying areas in the community of Draper could experience overland flooding, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions. There are no impacts to egress on the road at this time.

Important Safety reminders:

🚫Stay away from riverbanks and flowing water.
🚫Do not attempt to access closed areas.
🚫Do not fly drones near the river. Unsafe activity was observed throughout the night on social media.
🚫Keep children and pets away from affected areas.

The Municipality and provincial officials continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates as needed.

A warning to our followers to beware of Roma Gypsy scammers in Edmonton (and around Alberta for that matter).

These people come up and act like they’re in a tough situation, doing whatever they have to do to scam you. Sometimes they’ll hug you while crying, put on a sob story, and swap out your jewellery for fake pieces without you noticing.

We have received countless reports of these people attempting this, and they all scatter once they see a camera. They also target elderly people who don’t know what’s happening and might fall victim.

If you see this happening, don’t fall for it. Record it and send it to us and we’ll put them on blast every time.
