2:03 pm EDT - exactly 35 years (1988) to the moment when #PanAm103 was destroyed over Scotland by a terrorist bomb perpetrated by Libya.
We remember, especially today, the 270 innocent lives that were senselessly taken.

I covered the Pan Am 103 bombing for The @PostStandard and Herald-Journal. On the 35th anniversary, @POTUS called it "a tragedy that reverberated around the globe—and one that is still felt today by all those families and friends who continue to grieve for their loved ones."
Deeply, deeply moving to be at the memorial service to the victims of Pan Am 103 on the 35th anniversary. Listening to families who lost loved ones speak of their grief, but also their resolve and the love they have been surrounded by ever since was humbling. We will not forget.
On this day 35 years ago: Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, killing all of the crew and passengers on board. Eleven people from the town also died when burning wreckage from the plane crashed into the land. A tragedy that will never be forgotten.
