@yamnaya9 Then thinking about it, the same Bretons and Anglo-Saxons went back with their Norman kings into places like Calais,Aquitaine and Gascony ๐ซชand France proper during the hundred years War.
Let's put it another way. Even Prince Phillip born in Corfu, heir at one point to the Greek throne, given British citizenship still considered himself a Dane.
The whole "everyone is English" rhetoric coming from the left and the centrists seems to me to whittle down to a very specific point.
The people standing against the idea that the English are an ethnic group and therefore are White, appear to be driven, as usual, by one underlying cause.
They cannot allow White people to have something positive that others cannot have.
Everyone else gets to have their own communities and leaders, they get to have their own cultural practices that go against our laws and societal norms, their own languages and their own specific protections. They even get their own awards, history months, DEI allocations, jobs and university places/funding.
We don't get any of that, we have to share literally everything with literally everyone. And the things we hold dear are degraded and perverted while theirs are held as sacred. Our own history written in modern times often comes with a negative stance towards us, yet they will never have a negative word written about them.
This is just my opinion, but I can't think of a single positive thing that White people are allowed to have that others are excluded from.
We aren't even allowed to have our own ethnic groups and be recognised as a unique and special people in our own homeland.
Because this is what they genuinely fear.
@yamnaya9 Yes mate it does. We thought the family tree was mainly English and Scottish/Irish but the Breton DNA and how far we have traced it back match our research.
