As no one else is going to be consistent, I’m going to write a long thread analysing Kai Havertz performance this season & why we won’t win the league if he stays fit.

City - won 3 nil, he scored (but almost fumbled that as he headed it straight at the keeper) but was invisible through the whole game, won 2/4 ground duals & 2/10 Ariel duels, 2/10 is a major red flag for someone so big.

Coventry - won 3 nil, scored again with his 1 shot on goal but again, invisible throughout, we were very lucky in these first 2 games that the 10 behind him were on fire so we were able to hide him (something he’s very good at) without him hiding. 2/5 ground duels won, 3/5 Ariel duels won. Concerning but it’s GW1

Villa - won 1 nil, absolute disasterclass of a performance, perhaps his worst in a Arsenal shirt & that takes some doing, got bailed out a couple of times by being offside but he doesn’t know that at the time & his finishing is beyond woeful, 2/5 ground duels won, 1/3 Ariel duels won, he’s not improving on that side, he’s just being less involved.

Chelsea - won 2-1, sublime, world class, the player everyone thinks he is over the course of the season when the reality is he only rolls this out for Chelsea because he hates them so much, is this a new dawn or just another hateful performance? 2/3 ground duels won, 4/7 Ariel duels won, got more praise for his dummies than dominating their CBs but he turned up as he does annually in this fixture, did very well, no complaints, world class performance as always against them……

Sunderland - won 2-0, another nothing burger of a performance, in keeping with the theme of the season, no Chelsea, no performance, completely abject, oh to be a square peg in a round hole right now because at least goals come with that, 1/4 ground duels won & 4/12 Ariel duels won, this is just not acceptable from a big guy who’s supposed to be good in the air, he is now being bullied by CBs in every game but the fanbase has turned into Stevie Wonder when last year they had eagle eyes. It’s no longer concerning, we’ve move past that point.

Brighton - Lost 3 nil, just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, it does, completely abject as a CF, he was literally hiding from going into battle with their CB from Spurs by hiding in midfield, hiding in DM, hiding between the CBs & hiding near the RB where he gave the ball away, it led to the corner & the 3rd goal, we won’t talk about the 1 big chance he missed (ironically created by Gyokeres) because we are now numb to it. 3/5 ground duels won, 2/5 Ariel duels won, I would say this is bad but we’ve seen worse, totally unacceptable to be nowhere near the box when our wingers are crossing the ball, you’re making them look bad too, an absolute masterclass in hiding on the pitch.

There we have it, none of the podcasters or bloggers are going to do this like they are so happy to do with others so it feels important that we analyse it together, give me a square peg in a round hole any day of the week because at least goals come with that, what we have here is clothes being blown off the washing line which is getting blown further away from where all the rest of clothes are drying.

We’ve started the season well but it’s a lie that he makes us play better, he don’t, this has been proven by his invisibility in 4 out of the 5 games & his complete lack of duel winning, the ball hasn’t been sticking & he hasn’t been doing the job his size requires his him to do, we’ve played better because the attacking players around him have been balling out, yesterday that didn’t happen and it was all laid bare for all to see.

Let’s be consistent.
