These need to more common, the more stations we see the more likely people will start to buy more electric cars. Of course there are other factors but just seeing things daily gets people thinking.
I think this coincides with the saying "in order to love others you need to love yourself first". It is something myself and my generation struggle with but are leading a movement to help each other do so.
According to the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, the intimacy of friendship lies in the sensation of recognizing oneself in the eyes of another. https://t.co/wt61UZLZ0Y
This along with removing likes has made me gain respect for instagram over other social media platforms. I hope this is a change in values for instagram and not just something they do to gain the competitive advantage and that is all.
Instagram is finally asking people signing up for the service to provide their age in an attempt to better protect younger users https://t.co/oiLMxS2J8U
This really brings to light both the need for transparency in corporations and the need for parents to be more aware. The hardest part is when it becomes a national craze, it is hard to avoid it at that point, so we must stop it before then.
Regardless of political opinion I feel that this is a great method to secure votes. I am one of these young people and being told I am doing a good job and wont be ignored is comforting, but that is the dangerous part. Too many people base decision off immediate reactions.
I'm immensely proud of the work that young people are doing to lead the world in fighting the climate crisis.
When we are in the White House, young people will not be ignored.
They will be central to everything we accomplish.
The fact that luxury cars and green vehicles are getting such high safety ratings speaks to the priorities of vehicle manufacturers. I feel that the vehicle industry is one the leading industries when it comes to the safety of our people and our world.
The dilemma with trying to change the name of "anti-vaxxer" is that it might make it look like a sane and reasonable position to be in. "Anti-vaxxer" now has a social stigma to it that I would usually be against but I feel is appropriate in this case.
When an anti-vaccine Twitter account suggested using the term "vaccine risk aware" over "anti-vaxxer," fellow social media users were quick to offer other ideas — "plague enthusiasts," for example. https://t.co/hOi6BF6QkB
Tracking is a problem within the education system and reveals deeper issues of disproportionate income gaps based on race, strides have been made to help fix this but tracking is an issue that when addressed and fixed, has the potential to bring these problems to fruition #WRTGtc
The largest problem that this leads to is the separation of races in economic standings The lower tracks in schools include more black and hispanic students compared to white and asian students in higher tracks This can be traced back to each race's average annual income #WRTGtc
The opportunity structures can also be looked at as a very similar thing to social class. The higher the social class, the more money a family makes, the better their opportunity structure is. This leads to a segregation of social classes in education #WRTGtc
The track that students are placed into is reflected on their standings and opportunities they have had at the time while also down the line it can limit or broaden their opportunities based on the track #WRTGtc
The underlying problems of tracking are much more dangerous and are closer to the segregation of race and economic standings. Tracking placement is not just about the ability of the student necessarily, it is a reflection of that students economic status. #WRTGtc
Teachers without the passion to teach take advantage of the lower tracks because they are much less work to teach. This produces a very dangerous relationship between students and teachers that leads to both them not enjoying the class and possibly even school in general #WRTGtc
The largest advantage of tracking benefits students in higher tracks, those who are put in more challenging classes with other students of similar ability generate a sense of accomplishment and desire to work harder since they are in a classroom where everyone works hard #WRTGtc
Different social classes have incredibly different opportunities. Being in the upper class is such an advantage to children, they can be provided with superior private education and never need to worry about the problems students in lower classes face #WRTGtc
The targeting of minorities is something that is prominent locally because it is easier to have local separation get by compared to a national separation. This is especially true when it comes to schools and tracking #WRTGtc
The term “apartheid schools” describes largely segregated schools, where whites make up 0 to 10 percent of the student body, this reflects residential segregation which isn't created by racial laws, but by local ordinances that target minorities disproportionately #WRTGtc
The Supreme Court case of Brown v. Board of Education was what ended segregation in schools in 1954. This is a very influential piece of history, but it did not have great immediate results. It takes more than a Supreme Court case to change how people think. #WRTGtc
Tracking is an idea that sounds good in theory, but in practice creates a social, economic, and race related segregation that hurts how children learn and is related to larger problems in society. #WRTGtc
