After President Trump said Wednesday he believes Israel will soon withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon, Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon says there is "no disconnect" between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

“The timeline is not about dates. It's about the capabilities of the Lebanese military to mobilize their forces to areas that we will depart, and basically, making sure Hezbollah is not coming back to southern Lebanon,” he says. “In the long-run, we have no intention to stay in Lebanon.”

يحاول بعض “زعماء” لبنان إسقاط #الاتفاق_الإطاري، متجاهلين حقائق أثبتها التاريخ:

١- انتهى في لبنان زمن #الوصاية_الفلسطينية بقيادة ياسر عرفات.
٢- ثم انتهى زمن #الوصاية_السورية “الأسدية” بعد ٣٠ سنة من الاحتلال.
٣- واليوم، بدأ زمن #الاحتلال_الإيراني يلفظ أنفاسه الأخيرة على أرضنا.

وهذا يعني أن زمن الوصايات قد ولّى، وأن مسيرة السلام انطلقت، ولن تتوقف حتى تُحقق أهدافها.

الخلاصة:

كما أن عقارب الساعة لا تعود إلى الوراء،

I totally agree with Israel’s Ambassador @yechielleiter. The common enemy is Hezbollah — as Lebanon and Israel themselves agreed on June 3, Hezbollah poses a bigger problem to Lebanon than to Israel. Get the full normalization agreement ready while working on disarming them!
