It’s been a heavy week. I just drove down 65th in north Seattle and there are hundreds of people lining the street with Black Lives Matter signs. I am moved and hopeful for change.
Sitting at my computer tonight trying to draft a statement for campus about the unrelenting assault on black people in this country. I just can’t. I am too tired, angry and sad to be coherent about racism in America.
I lost a true friend and partner yesterday. No words can capture the grief. Dr. Gabe was the voice of reason during my tenure as VP. Always focused on student success. What a beautiful spirit. Rest in peace my friend.
Thank you @BillGates and @gatesfoundation for your attention and dedication to eradicating disease! Really brings the importance of what you are doing during this pandemic
Seattle Central College staff showed off their alma mater colors to celebrate #CollegeGearDay one of the events to celebrate #DiscoverU Week, a week that promotes college and career exploration.

@saragoldrickrab I am a college president now but my path to and through college is so similar to the students you advocate for. Thank you for giving us voice!
Today I had the privilege of reporting for jury duty. Was reminded that folks fought and died for my right to do this. Even in 2019 not much racial diversity in the pool. #juryduty#democracyinaction
