On the issue of rent and the urgent need for radical reforms in the sector, kindly take note of the following.
https://t.co/CthEoPwksD, I held a meeting with the Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, the newly appointed Acting Rent Commissioner, Frederick Opoku, and the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Real Estate Agency Council, Mr. Emmanuel Jeffery. This is about the 5th time I have engaged the Minister personally on this.
2.The meeting was convened at the instance of the Minister, who has been actively engaging key stakeholders as part of the ongoing rent reform process being led by the Ministry.
3.The proposed reforms have already been submitted to Cabinet. A few additional inputs are currently being incorporated after which the proposals will be resubmitted to Cabinet. Once final approval is secured, the reforms will be laid before Parliament for consideration.
4.While the process may appear slow given the urgency of the problem, it is important that the work is done thoroughly. Rent reform is a complex national issue involving multiple institutions and actors, and it requires careful coordination to produce a durable solution.
5.The Ministry and its agencies will soon brief the public and provide further details on the reforms being pursued.
NB: I do not speak for the Ministry but they have recognized my continuous commitment to this issue that is why I get invited.
Bro @TwoTerty__ and others, we have not abandoned the advocacy. I will personally get you into one of the stakeholder meetings shortly.
“But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
Another week to grind with purpose, pursue the vision, and above all, deliver impact that transforms lives.
Wishing you a blessed and productive week.

Our Free Eye Screening and Surgeries exercise came to a close on Thursday, and the impact has been nothing short of amazing. These numbers are not just statistics but they represent real people and families whose lives have been touched:
☑️3,017 people screened
☑️2,772 received essential eye medication
☑️679 now have medicated glasses to see clearly again
☑️338 will regain their sight through surgery
From 3rd to 5th December, every booked patient will undergo their surgery and we will transport them freely, both to and from the facility. No burden. No barrier. Just hope restored.
This is what it I meant when I promised to put people first. And by God’s grace, we will keep showing up for our people, again and again.

It was a pleasure meeting with the leadership team from Ketu North led by the Member of Parliament Hon Eric Edem Agbana @edemagbana to discuss our shared vision for environmental sustainability. I’m particularly encouraged by their commitment to practical, community driven action.
In the coming weeks, the EPA will establish a District Office in Ketu North, ensuring our presence and support are closer to the people. We’ve also pledged full support for their World Environment Day celebration on June 5th, 2025, where 10,000 trees will be planted across the district, a strong statement of climate action and environmental restoration.
Beyond this, we are partnering to combat the ongoing issue of illegal sand winning, which threatens the ecological and agricultural balance in the area. The EPA will also provide technical expertise to support climate education in schools and communities, equipping the next generation with the tools to lead.
These efforts are more than environmental, they are about protecting livelihoods, building resilience, and shaping a sustainable future. I look forward to continued collaboration with Ketu North as we grow greener, together.
A fight against unfair housing policies and exorbitant rent demands; pushing for reforms to ensure affordable and accessible housing for all Ghanaians. Thank you Hon. @edemagbana#RentReform
Update
I have officially submitted my formal statement on The Rent Regime and the Urgent Need for Reforms to the Speaker’s Office. If admitted, I will be notified of the scheduled date to present it before the House. This is a critical step toward addressing the housing challenges facing Ghanaians. #RentReform
IGNORE THE NPP’S MISCHIEF: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON UG HALL FEES
It is unfortunate, yet unsurprising, to see the NPP peddling falsehoods about an alleged astronomical increase in hall fees at the University of Ghana by the NDC. As a former UG SRC President, I am well-versed in the processes that determine fees and charges. Let me set the record straight:
1. Fees Are Approved a Year in Advance: All fees and charges for an academic year are determined and approved by the University Council in the previous academic year. This means that fees for the 2023/2024 academic year were approved during the 2022/2023 academic year, long before the NDC assumed office.
2. The Current University Council Still Reflects Akufo-Addo’s Government: The current University of Ghana Council remains constituted with nominees and representatives of the Akufo-Addo government. President John Mahama is yet to constitute new university councils.
3. Baseless Claims from Student Leaders: It is deeply disappointing for anyone;especially student leaders who should know better to propagate this baseless claim that the NDC has increased hall fees. Such assertions lack merit and are a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
4. Having said this, I join the many voices calling on the government, particularly our distinguished Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, himself a former student leader, to urgently intervene. I appeal to him to explore the possibility of a reduction in the fees to ease the burden on students and their families.
Education remains a cornerstone of national development, and we must do everything in our power to ensure that no student is left behind due to financial constraints. A swift and compassionate response from the government would not only provide relief but also reaffirm its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the youth, who represent the future of this nation.
Let us act now to make education more accessible and equitable for all.
Thank you.
Eric Edem Agbana
MP, Ketu North
Former SRC President
University of Ghana.
It was a hectic yet truly rewarding day in Parliament, as I had the privilege of joining the Appointments Committee as a subject area representative. I posed questions to
my former boss, the Minister-designate for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare-Addo , who impressed the committee with his poise and thoughtful responses.
We will continue to serve with dedication and do our utmost for God and Country.

@Gen_Buhari_@edemagbana@tv3_ghana You are a proof that mad people are not only on the street, you have no idea of the program in question and you are spewing gibberish.
