A candle burns on our #Journalists_Altar surrounded now by six plaques commemorating journalists killed to date on both sides during the Israel-Gaza conflict. May they rest in peace.
We continue to pray for the safety of all reporting from there and for peace in the Holy Land.
I am sure that a large number of you reading this will have contributed to the 750,000 responses received by @TransportFocus on #ticketoffices. So this is an open thank you note to all - for investing the time and thought that you gave. Because no matter what your opinion on ticket offices, what it shows is that there are thousands of people who care deeply about Britain’s railway, its customer experience, its staff, and its place as a gateway to and from communities. But above all, despite most of us sitting or standing on trains apart with no interaction, and despite what media reports of isolated incidents might claim, what is says to me is that Britain’s railway passengers care *hugely* about the needs of other users. That the users of the public transport system, cometh the hour, unite to protect what is needed to make it a system that should and could be there for all. And that, that is true public transport, and that is *beautiful*.
We pray for peace in the Holy Land.
As the #Journalists_Church, we pray for the safety of all at risk reporting the conflict, remembering on our #Journalists_Altar those who have lost their lives, are missing, detained or injured.
