Addressing the signed framework agreement between Lebanese authorities and the Israeli occupation in an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi stressed, "If anyone thinks that the Israelis are going to voluntarily leave Lebanon, they are utterly, utterly naive," adding, "The Lebanese President and Prime Minister know this very well. They know they've signed off the southern part of Lebanon and gifted it to the Israeli regime."

He also warned that "no one in Lebanon should deceive himself or herself" into believing otherwise.

Professor Marandi affirmed that Iran's position remains unchanged, stressing that Article 1 of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding must be "fully implemented", cautioning that "if the United States does not want to wreck its own economy, then it should take it more seriously;" otherwise, Iran will use the Strait of Hormuz as leverage until the US fulfills its commitments.
