My biggest surprise was that even though thousands and thousands of people walked through busy train stations daily, everyone seemed to take responsibility for keeping things clean and orderly. Escalators: people stood to one side so those in a hurry could pass. Trash: no trash cans but nobody littered. Trains: People genuinely tried to help and make sure everyone got on the train.
@EricLDaugh Take a drive through the parking lot of any US School district administrator parking lot. Why are their cars more expensive than the parking lot of most Tech workers? How do they make enough to pay for such luxury?
@CastleBravo23@InfographicTony@GavRov Yes! That's from back when it was a good magazine with good content. Last time I read one of those I was very disappointed. But in it's day it was top notch!
Absolutely! Learning a new language does require a lot of courage. Courage to make mistakes and just laugh. Consider that your "english speaking" side is a little girl of 5 years old. As she learns, nobody will be mad that she is learning. They will all encourage her to improve!
@zundamotisuki Is it true that the children wear different color hats so that the adults on the train can make sure that they get off at the right stop? In case one falls asleep or is distracted at their stop?
@Matthew67959827@Devon_Eriksen_ My understanding is that these signs are usually posted to let foreigners know that the restaurant doesn't have a lot of people who speak English. Is this true?
