@NursingAnthony@WeStudentNurse@WeNurses @StNurseProject I would love to join you on the PC to talk anything nursing. I have RN exp in M/S, Ped’s, and spent the last 3 yrs in the ICU. The last yr being spent battling all covid all day and all night. It’s been quite the ride of emotions and experiences. Keep up the awesome work Anthony!
@NursingAnthony@WeStudentNurse@WeNurses @StNurseProject Hi Anthony, love the podcasts. Your story and path to nursing are very similar to my own. I started out in a completely different career as a pilot. Almost 15 yrs later, I am an ICU nurse w/ < 6 m in my education to become a CRNP 1/2.
@queenofironyRN I don’t think anyone really understands what we do on a daily basis. Every time I walk into work I feel like I’m going to battle. Lately, it feels like all the battles are being lost b/c covid is relentless. That being said, we fight every minute of every shift for these patients
@thatnrselife I tell people now that going to work is like going to battle. The only way to get it through it is to rely on your co-workers. Pick each other up when needed and do whatever is necessary to get the job done. You did a great thing for that nurse!! Not everyone would do what u did!
@thatnrselife I can’t imagine being a new ICU nurse right now. Pure chaos and so challenging right now. Our norm is to just expect to have 2-3 unstable Covid patients. Optiflow, bipap or vented, it doesn’t matter, the decline is so fast and recently it just seems nobody is getting better.
@strangeharbors Lehigh Valley Hospital- Hazleton in NE PA. I am ICU nurse at this great hospital. Since we are only 90 miles from NYC and have a large elderly population, we are, and will continue getting slammed for the foreseeable future and will def need masks to protect the whole team!!
