Today, I want to publicly and sincerely appreciate Dr. Johnson Joyce, an ENT surgeon and, above all, a wonderful friend, who came in today to perform adenotonsillectomy surgeries for our children completely free of charge as part of our #65FreeAdenotonsillectomy initiative, organised to mark the 65th birthday of Mr. Peter Obi.

Dr. Joyce, I honestly do not know how to thank you enough.

On a normal working day, if you were called upon to perform these surgeries, the value of your professional services for the number of surgeries you are doing today would be at least ₦3 million.

Yet, today, you chose to give your time, skill, expertise and service freely, simply because you believe in what we are doing and because of the reward of friendship.

That sacrifice means so much to me.

You could have spent your Sunday resting or attending to your regular professional commitments, but instead, you chose to spend it giving these children a chance at better health and a better quality of life.

Today, because of you, more children will go home to their parents with the hope of sleeping better, breathing better and living better.

And I know that the parents will never forget what you have done for their children.

For these children, you have given them something that may sound simple but means so much:
