In what world is Putin a "humanitarian?” He's assassinated political rivals and journalists, bombed hospitals, and started a war that has intentionally killed tens of thousands of innocent people, including women and children. He's a war criminal.
In his first term Trump blocked congressionally mandated aid to Ukraine in an attempt to coerce them to investigate Biden. Many of the same Republicans who opposed his impeachment for that are now complaining that he’s doing it again - and now people are dying because of it.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
Donald Trump set another record.
There’s NEVER been an election (since polling began in the United States) where voters said “corruption” was their top worry.
Until now.
Zohran Mamdani: “I believe there must be room to mourn every single life. There must be room to mourn the lives of the more than 1,100 Israelis that Hamas killed three years ago. There must be room to mourn the 74K Palestinians the Israeli government had killed since. What I so appreciated about being at the vigil yesterday evening, as I had been the year before, is that it was a vigil that brought together New Yorkers to read testimonies of their own family members, of others who’ve been killed either on the day or in the genocide since and ends with a shared vision for peace and for an end to the genocide”
Let's be really clear about what this performative opposition means: Gottheimer, Scholten et al are willing to hand Trump two more Supreme Court justices

Amazing contrast between a calm and collected Amy Klobuchar (alpha) patiently explaining how Eric Schmitt (beta) wrongly accused Jack Smith of perjury as Schmitt becomes shrill, scolding. Frankly I think right wing men would benefit from the Longhouse and a den mother more than most. You let them out into the world on their own and this is what happens. I think the "rewilding" was a mistake for this type.
In war, children are sadly killed, most commonly (collaterally) by artillery and airstrikes. But it is comparatively rare for children to be killed by gunshot, much less in single-shot wounds.
In Gaza, however, children have been shot at an astonishing level; and not in crossfire, but usually with single-shot wounds to the head and chest. This bizarre pattern is easily confirmed through open-source research, of the sort the BBC has done and my team and I have done for AOAV. And it is a big part of the story of Gaza, as to why so many children have been killed. (More than were killed by any military in any war this century.)
Nor is this the product of "child soldiers." If it were, we'd expect 16 and 17 year old boys - who are the vast majority of the very small number of minor combatants hasbara researchers have identified - to be the bulk of those shot. Instead, as a @BBC study showed, most children shot by the IDF in Gaza have been 11 or younger.
Can we circle back to Putin’s close personal friend paying for Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding please? Helllloooo? That’s a pretty big red flag.

Speaking of cancer, remember when your family shifted hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations away from children's cancer research and into your family businesses?
Charlamagne tha God on the Trump family corruption: “The levels of corruption are unmatched. I don’t think America can recover from this level of corruption. Once people see you can get away with this type of stuff, there’s no going back. If every single person in this administration isn’t in jail in the next 5 years, it’s just a wrap for America as a country”
So we are expected to believe that if Joe Biden had a female aide who was saying stuff like this to him, the Republican Party and Fox wouldn’t be all over it.
GTFOH.
