@mat_rickard I know a R2 DJ and asked him last year about the EV entry and he knew nothing about it.
There's no buy in by the BBC, there's no grand picture. There is obviously no desire to win, judging by the last 2 acts they've sent, that could never win - even before you had a song
@Ravian_w2@alvarits90@EurovisionTom Are you talking about "peoples favourite" or the "actual favourite" based on odds and probability? Because I explained the latter, peoples fav? I don't know, maybe just a lot of people like it that don't share the same music taste as you I guess
@oceaniitobackup Surely a juries job, is to mark the songs as they professionally feel fit? Why would they care about what countries are eager to host, when juries only serve for one year?
@PeterZaventem@escbetting its a good point tbh, but the people that watch the SF performances are generally new viewers - ie people that don't follow it until the SF start
@eurovisionbets@EurovisionTom I don't think the reason they nonQ was because they were sung in English though. They all had their floors, Belgium was massively overrated and you saw how Austria did last year
@Barwineewindas@escbetting I think therein lies the problem. There probably isn't a big jury winner, and France, Netherlands, Switzerland split points and a plethora of other credible acts Sweden, Austria, Italy, Albania, UK take a bunch of others. It's whether France, Netherlands or Swiss can be the one
@escbetting Sweden is still the defacto fav, because it's hard to make a plausible argument for anything else. There doesn't look to be a standout Jury winner (although we thought that last year) and the TV magnets will get no jury love. Netherlands looks the only threat to me rn
