Why a Global Rally? Because older people must have equal voice and participation in drafting the new UN convention. Older people's rights must be respected. Join us from 1-7 February! #AgeWithRights#EqualVoicesEqualRights

Happy International Day of Older Persons!
🔵IPA recognizes the powerful role older adults play as drivers of progress and change. This year’s theme, “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being and Our Rights” aligns with our mission to empower this vital population.
🔵We celebrate their contributions to a more equitable and resilient world, from health advocacy to human rights.
🔵The day was established by the United Nations to acknowledge the rapid growth of the global aging population and to promote supportive, healthy environments for all. This aligns with our mission to ensure that older adults have the tools and support to maintain their functional capacity and participate fully in society.
This day is a powerful reminder that with proper care and support, older persons can remain active, independent, and vital contributors to their communities.

New #SocialWork with older people blog to share @BASW_UK conference workshop on Challenging Ageism Together. "We can call out ageism in the way social work is delivered, resist it in how we relate to people of different ages and refuse to internalise it." https://t.co/0JeEAqu4PT
Thank you for highlighting the importance of #socialwork to people in our communities and the need to support social workers in their work to uphold human rights, as they did throughout Covid.
📺 This morning, BASW gave evidence to @covidinquiryuk module on adult social care.
As the only UK social work organisation with core participant status, we used our platform to champion social workers and advocate to policy-makers for critical improvements for the profession.
We are doing a workshop at the @BASW_UK conference on Challenging Ageism Together - for #AgeWithoutLimits day - how social workers can notice, challenge and act in allyship to stop ageism #socialwork
