I'm excited to be sharing the first chapter of my #NaNoWriMo project VERY SOON!
This venn diagram is a great illustration of some of my favorite things that are all a big part of my Monsters & Beasts series.
Keep a lookout for the first chapter.
Happy Monday!
Here's an interesting AM thought:
Bacon is the bridge between breakfast & dinner.
It's good with breakfast foods. It's good with dinner foods. It's good anytime of day.
Yay! Bacon!
New blog post on Medium!
Snippet:
I’m not a very prolific writer. Most days, I’m lucky to write 300 words.
The best way I could describe my writing life compared to other writers I see on Instagram or in Facebook groups is The Tortoise and the Hare.

Day 30 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Cosplay as my MC
I don’t cosplay as my characters. So here’s a pretty looping forest video with a tiny bard.
I do have some swords and daggers and cloaks that I’ve collected.
Day 29 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Search history
I’m a writer, so my search history is full of many seemingly unrelated things. Amaranth started as research into what my characters might forage in the wild, and it turned into one of my favorite breakfast foods.

Best writing advice
@writingdaniel
This quote really hit me when I read it. I think we all want to make our characters more real, more sympathetic, more unforgettable. I like to absorb any information I can in that regard.
Day 27 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Shelfie
Here’s my bookshelves and my gorgeous Ruth Thompson dragon prints. On the top of my bookcases, I have a collection of chromatic and metallic dragons who need painting. Add that to the many projects I have created for myself.
Day 26 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Strike a (punctuation mark) pose
I’ll be honest, I really don’t know what this prompt means. I don’t plan to pose like a punctuation mark, if that’s what it really means.
That said, my favorite punctuation mark is probably a comma.
Day 25 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Pen pal shoutout!
I don’t have a pen pal, but I do have a writing buddy. My buddy @caramoulds is a writer and life coach. We were paired together by the Ninja Writers group we’re both a part of, and we’ve never looked back.
New blog post! How to Create Fantasy Names
I write fantasy, and I often have to create names for people, places, and monsters. Well, I have a quick method I like to use.

Day 24 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
In my MC’s pockets
I’m not entirely sure Lola-Grace has pockets. If she had pockets, she would keep stubs of charcoal there, the charcoal sticks she uses to write and draw in her book.
Day 22 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
If my novel were a meme
Thank you, Sir Patrick Stewart.
I’ve decided to keep with the same format I used in Book 1 for this second book. That means one monster or beast in every chapter.
Day 21 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Self Care
Okay, self care is not something I’m great at. I have a tendency to push myself until I hit burnout, and doing less than everything makes me feel like I’m being lazy.
However, there are a few things I do for myself.
Day 20 of #InstaWrimo@NaNoWriMo#NaNoWriMo
Pet Tax
These two fur-faces are my motivation for a lot of things. They’re the reason I get up at 4:30am during the week. So that I can feed them, get them taken care of, and then have some time to write before I get ready for work.
