Italian here.
Schettini (the teacher in question) basically admitted it himself during one of the most popular podcasts in Italy (BSMT). He openly said that he used to push/force his students to boost his online engagement liking, commenting, reacting, participating in lives, etc. in order to grow his channels.
The strategy worked perfectly: he quickly became the most famous “physics teacher” in Italy, appearing on TV, podcasts, live streams, major events… basically everywhere.

Needless to say, he treated the classroom more like a personal content studio than a proper learning environment.
His students didn’t receive the education they deserved.

He had very clear (and questionable) rules: reactions, comments, and active participation online would directly increase their grades. When he was invited to speak at other schools, he would even ask for 150–200 copies of his book to be bought (again, just to inflate his sales numbers).

His book was published by Mondadori, Italy’s biggest publisher, which often rides the wave of influencers and trends rather than focusing on real quality content. It’s basically a well-oiled machine we already seed multiple times… 😮‍💨
