π¨JUST IN: EX-BOJ OFFICIAL SAYS JAPAN MAY RAPIDLY HIKE RATES ABOVE 2% THIS YEAR
A former BOJ official warned Japan may speed up rate hikes to above 2% this year as the yen slides.
The BOJβs current policy rate is 1%, its highest level since 1995, while the yen recently hit Β₯162.84 per dollar, its weakest level in nearly 40 years.
Higher Japanese rates could support the yen, but they may also make borrowing more expensive and pressure global risk assets, including crypto.

Spent my morning reading this recent speech from @SecScottBessent. It lays out a new and defining vision for America's role in the economy for the next 100 years. @elerianm calls it a "remarkably important speech."
Bessent organizes his vision around five principles. Principle 3 is, "America will write the rules of the next economy." He gives one example of what this means:
"Digital assets, stablecoins, tokenization, and new payment systems will help to shape the future of money. The United States should not consign itself to the sidelines while that future is built elsewhere."
If you've wondered how committed Washington is to making crypto succeed in the US, that tells you something.
Name a welfare state that hasn't collapsed under the weight of it's social programs. What you are mad at is Crony Capitalism, not Unadulterated Capitalism. Socialism is not going to fix the problem, it is simply a narrative fed to you to get your vote. Its easy to sell a fantasy, hard to deliver on it... πβ

I did not always believe in the four year cycle for Bitcoin.
I used to think it was silly, and that the market had to be more complicated than that.
But then the market proved me wrong. So I admitted I was wrong, learned from my mistakes, and became a better investor.
This cycle, a lot of new Bitcoiners faded the four year cycle and relentlessly mocked anyone calling for the bear market. For many of them, instead of recognizing they were wrong, they continue to laugh at anyone willing to discuss the simplicity of the four year cycle.
They are likely doomed to repeat the same mistakes in the future, since their ego gets in the way of them being able to admit that they were wrong.
