I’m amazed at teacher contracts…specifically what little time is provided for teachers to actually get stuff done.
How in the world did it ever become normal to provide such little time to prepare for SO MUCH?!
And don’t get me started regarding the time provided to eat lunch.
I love leaders who focus on their teachers/ staff, especially during high stress times such as end of semester, conferences, grades, & especially as high stakes testing approaching. Seek out ways to help them.
Effective leaders don't feel the need to micromanage. They trust & respect their staff to do their job. They know their role is to sometimes mentor, but to always support and encourage those they lead. Effective leadership is getting the best out of those you lead.
We live in a country where CEOs get million-dollar bonuses for reaching their goals (pleasing their shareholders) while teachers may possibly get a cookie during teacher appreciation week. 🙄😔
