The EinsteinPy Project

EinsteinPy is an open source project designed to make gravitational physics look like 10 lines of Python code.

[Erik Schnetter (@[email protected]) @eschnett]

A new version of the Einstein Toolkit is now available. It includes a new package "POWER" to calculate gravitational waves.

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

@lemonfromRome @eschnett @samayanissanke @EinsteinPy was created because a bunch of us realised playing with code to learn General Relativity is not possible with Einstein Toolkit😁
Einstein Toolkit is a very big project. We someday want to be like that ☺️

[lemontree 🏳️🍉 @lemonfromRome]

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

@bcdacunha Yes, we know that was a joke😛

Thanks for using the project 😁

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

We are going to make so many relativity-nerds "not" happy because of the simplicity :D

[Bruno Carneiro da Cunha @bcdacunha]

@lbarosi import sympy
from einsteinpy.symbolic import SchwarzschildMetric, EinsteinTensor

m = SchwarzschildMetric()
G1 = EinsteinTensor.from_metric(m)
print(G1.arr)

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

Due to COVID19 second wave in India, it took us longer than usual to resolve these issues. Sorry for that. And hope you keep writing relativity in Python using EinsteinPy :D

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

EinsteinPy 0.4.0 is released.

pip install --upgrade einsteinpy

Here's what's new: https://t.co/nYAkRiNerC

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

We know that the release was long awaited because of the tagging issue.

The documentation should be up and should match the latest release now.

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

Not a lot of space tbh :p

(Hausen) @hausenjapan]

If the purpose of education is to score well on a test, we've lost sight of the real reason for learning. 🧠

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

We have taken a note of the documentation bug. We are working on to fix it.

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

We are not there in the list this year! But hey, what's stopping you from trying out something cool?
Check out the project ideas!

[OpenAstronomy ➡ @[email protected] @Open_Astronomy]

Yay! We've been accepted this year as a @gsoc organisation! Under our ☂ we've got @SunPyProject Stingray and JuliaAstro (@JuliaLanguage) - @poliastro_py is also taken part, but this year under @LibreSpace_Fnd
Certainly @ThePSF and @NumFOCUS are taking part again this year 🎉🎉

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

@RhiannonDauster @geodesicvoyager Hey @RhiannonDauster , you can surely use any editor. Jupyter Notebooks are convenient. They are not just editors😄

If you need any help in setting up your environment, feel free to drop into our chatroom anytime 😄

EinsteinPy 0.3.1 is released

pip install einsteinpy --upgrade

This is a very minor patch version for @DebianAstro

A bigger release is coming very soon

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

We will be making the 0.3.1 release this weekend

[Bourbaki @Gauge_lnvariant]

the fact that i got @EinsteinPy running on spyder with Linux makes me happy on the inside. Warped space-time diagrams here a i come.

We reached a milestone of 300 stars 🌟 on @github !

Thanks to all the 56 contributors and thousands of users who drive this effort.

[The EinsteinPy Project @EinsteinPy]

Apologies for the late release
