@Traycee6123@TheRocSupremacy WAKE IT UP. Quiet as it’s kept, it’s top 3 on an excellent album.

🎶 I was cool with no commitments… Let me take that back
It was you so I was with it 🎶
@BurgessBoston@poddtadre I first met Jeremy Strong in a blink and you miss it but excellent guest turn as a pollster for Alun Cumming’s Eli Gold on The Good Wife!
Was so delighted to see him take off
@BurgessBoston@poddtadre He’s so good in that! I always felt he and Redmayne were underrated when that film came out and Cohen was the consensus choice. And what a fun story
Last year, Palantir founder Alex Karp said: “I love the idea of getting a drone and having light fentanyl-laced urine spraying on analysts that tried to screw us.”
Now, he has Labour Party peer Tom Watson trying to convince you to trust his company with your personal data.
How is the fallout of a Republican senator accused of something “Democrats are bad?”
How long is this going to be the model of American journalism. Is THAT the story here?
@hoodopulence@shannon_sense I don’t know this just made me burst out laughing. My girl really was going through it but the looks were her armour against a cruel world
@MinaLioness Genuinely I’d be up for seeing David and Jada in a live-action comedy. Both felt wasted but they were definitely trying their best. And I respect it
“Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands is a grand song. It is like Beowulf, and it ‘takes me out to the meadow.’ This song can make you leave home, work on the railroad or marry a Gypsy. I think of a drifter around a fire with a tin cup under a bridge, remembering a woman’s hair. The song is a dream, a riddle and a prayer.”
- Tom Waits on Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
@etrommater I love this and I think it’s important to build your own taste as to what is best. The why of the best might vary. But no one ever makes the distinction between best friend and favourite. I’d rather keep it the same for art
Controversial but I don’t think Betty fits in with this quartet and especially this moment which is such a beautiful moment between the two that is part of what makes the later season domestic scenes work so well
@paul_jkrause Great Expectations for taste. (So great choice.) Hard Times for form and structure and close reading potential. Feels made for teaching and analysis in a productively ironic way, considering its themes. (One of my best teaching experiences seeing students engage with it, tbh)
@dykelctics I agree about most of these but I think the last two seasons are a sharp decline and the tried to do much in season 5 so had too much of a plateau. (Which I anticipate might happen to The Pitt later on)
