As he promised during Baba's burial, Sen @edwinsifuna has not crucified the party. Instead, he has remained steadfast, loyal to its ideals, and faithful to the values that brought millions of Kenyans into the party. If anything, it is the party that has chosen to crucify one of its most dedicated servants.
For nine years as Secretary General, Sifuna has stood firm in defending the party's constitution, its internal democracy, and the rule of law. He has spoken for members when it was uncomfortable, defended the party in difficult moments, and reminded us all that institutions are only as strong as the principles they are willing to protect.
Leadership is not about saying what is convenient. It is about standing for what is right, even when it comes at a personal cost. Throughout his tenure, Sifuna has consistently defended democracy, constitutionalism, accountability, and the voice of ordinary party members. Those are the very foundation stones upon which ODM was built.
History has a way of vindicating those who choose principle over convenience. Seasons change, chapters close, and new ones begin. What matters most is remaining true to the values that define us.
So today, we do not look back with bitterness. We look ahead with hope, conviction, and renewed purpose. Every ending creates room for a greater beginning.
We forge forward into a new chapter of our journey.
Mbele kuzuri tena sana!
