Artifacte Thoughts Vol. I: NFTs Didn’t Die, They Were Killed

We’re seeing more discussion around NFTs again which is wonderful. I seem to recall the last time there was this much chatter, it was all around marketplaces / incentives

There were *tons* of people who simply would place ZERO blame on marketplaces. Mostly KOLs. Which is akin to what we see today with *something* else (weird, huh?)

I’ll die on the hill that parasitic marketplaces with perverse incentives played the largest role in killing NFTs

Were they the only issue? Ofc not. So much played into it

What happens to (most) parasites when their hosts die?

They all took incredibly short-sighted approaches to capture as much volume and market share as they could

Frankly, to make a quick buck (or a hell of a lot), they made some good moves

Were they good for longterm sustainability of the NFT sector, though? Absolutely not

What hasn’t been completely stomped out by them?

The culture

It’s there. In some projects more than others, though I believe more long for it than let on

We can see a renaissance with the right incentives in place and alignment between the three sides: collections, collectors, marketplace

@Artifacte_inc is aiming to be that infrastructure

We’re not trying to *save* NFTs

We’re rebuilding one side of them, the way it should’ve been done in the first place if prosperity for all three was important

NFTs & RWAs are the primary focus of @Artifacte_inc but not in the same tired approach

And if we do this right, the culture will come back stronger than ever. Culture will beget volume. Aligned incentives will allow for a sustainable run.

The Star-Child is nearly a year old and we’re sitting at the most bullish point of his existence

Hosico Labs will soon launch @Artifacte_inc, a curated Digital Collectible/RWA marketplace, with two primary aims:
- Become the Soethby’s of @solana

- Help spark the NFT renaissance

Incentives have been misaligned with NFTs for years, so we’re realigning them, and capturing the the parabolic growth of RWAs

50% of all revenue generated from both will be used to buy-back $HOSICO and we’ve got something up our sleeve for collectors/collections, too

The @Hosico_on_sol team have also continued to acquire supply, amassing >50%, which provides a significant amount of control

While we’re sitting at a year old, this is just the beginning
