@romanhistory1 I went last spring. Amazing historic place. It also has a temple of Zeus and a theatre.

This pictures are from the temple of Hercules. According to an inscription the temple was built around AD 162-166 by the Romans. It is located in #Amman #Jordan.

I took this picture on my last trip to Jordan. It is the earliest statue (discovered) done by a human being. It was found in Jerico. It is from the Neolithic period. It is on display at the Amman Citadel Museum. #history #neolithic #Amman #Jordan

The contus was mainly used with both hands (raiders were not always equipped with shields), held along the horse's flank and wielded freely. 5/6
